Monterey Bay Area has a couple of great places to go kayaking.  The water in front of Monterey and Pacific Grove is very popular and offers an opportunity to see Monterey from a different perspective.

Moss Landing and Elkhorn Slough are also excellent places to visit if you like to watch Sea Otters and bird life. 

For Elkhorn Slough, try a kayaking tour on a moon lit night and then go for "fish and chips" in Moss Landing. Enjoy!
