I accidentally discovered that I liked gardening when my husband starting growing roses at our old
house. He tells me it's an English thing and that if you planted an old twig in the ground
here it will grow. That said, Monterey
Bay Area does seems to be an excellent place to grow things so there must be
some kind of soil or weather advantage.
When we moved here in 1999 we planned a rose garden and lawn as part of our landscaping.
Gardening can be hard work, but I find it very rewarding. We do most of the maintenance and landscaping
ourselves, so I'm familiar with the
local places to buy trees, plants, and materials.
I've included a few pictures of our garden, enjoy

PS - And yes these really are my husband's
roses. and yes he's very proud of them...
It's that English gardening thing.
