Selecting Your Realtor

[Home] [Feedback] [FAQ] [Glossary]

Buying and/or selling your home is a difficult and time consuming business. It is made more stressful by knowing it is not a decision that you want to get wrong. The realtor you choose can be the difference between getting it right and saving or making money or getting it wrong and loosing money or overpaying for your new home. Many factors should influence who you choose as your realtor. I've listed what I think are the most important below, and it doesn't matter if you're buying, selling or searching the basic attributes are the same.

Basic Attributes
  • Must be prepared to be in constant communication with you.
  • Must know the local area you're approaching.
  • Must be experienced using all forms of media and technology.
  • Must be hardworking, successful and dependent on real estate as a living, no part-timers please!
  • Must be a source for financing, inspections, escrow companies, legal counsel and insurance.
